Natural light governs a number of endocrinal functions, and regulates sleep and the body's water balance.
It improves the working conditions experienced by employees and in France it is governed by Labour Code articles R 235-2 and R232-7-1.
Depending on the sectors in question, it is nevertheless necessary to have a greater or lesser degree of natural light or to avoid it getting into a room by dimming out or blacking out the room.
With a blind fitted with Mermet® fabrics, you control the penetration by external light.
The light provided, and the level of dimming out or blacking out is achieved according to the level of illuminance measured from behind a given fabric.
The level of incoming light varies depending on the opening coefficient (Co, OF). The higher it is, the more the light will get through. The Tv value, for its part, depends on the colour and determines the clarity or brilliance.
Thus, the lighter the colour is, the more the room will be bathed in light.A blind fitted with Mermet® fabrics must therefore control incoming light and, as it turns out, the luminance and illuminance levels.
With their coated fibreglass yarns, the regularity of the fibres' coating, and the aerated weave, Sunscreen® fabrics from the Mermet® collection allow the best of the natural light to pass through. They thus enable the consumption of artificial light to be limited and enable energy savings, which is a good way of limiting greenhouse gas emissions.
They have several weaves and opening coefficients (up to 10 %) which allow a greater or lesser level of incoming light.
When you do not want outward visibility, it is better to choose a Mermet® fabric from the Blockout family. Depending on the case, dimming out or totally blacking out the room will be achieved depending on the level of illuminance measured from behind the fabric. Blockout fabrics fulfil needs for night privacy.
