The Modulight® Rapid’ Selection guide

The optical and thermal performance of Modulight® solar protection fabrics are tested in accordance with the US ASRHAE or European EN 14501 standards. These values are necessary for set recommendations, but do not help when it comes to spontaneously selecting the right fabric.

This is why Mermet has developed a unique system to help make your choice, enabling the four requirement levels in a building to be qualified :

  • Do you want to allow all the light to enter or not?
  • Do you want to control on-screen reflections?
  • Do you want to protect yourself against heat?
  • Do you want to offer good visibility when looking out?

4 indices are determined for each fabric depending on its specific characteristics :

Modulight® Rapid' Selection

4 comfort factors for facilitating your choice

comfort factors for choosing the right fabric depending on the use or colour desired and ensuring the success of your solar protection.

Level of incoming natural light
To get the best from natural light, make your selection from between indices 12 and 30. For a full blackout, choose from within a range of 1 to 5.

Controlling glare

For adequate glare control,

never go below index 22.

Protection against heat

To be protected from the heat, choose from an indices range of 20 to 40.

Quality of outward visibility
To give priority to and provide real transparency, select from index 15 or higher. To ensure privacy, select a factor lower than 5.
